According to the history of Somaliland, Ethiopia broke apart. Mitro 13:24, April 12, 2010 (UTC)

That can be easily changed to say that Eritea split off from Eithiopia. Yankovic270 14:11, April 12, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah but Somaliland mentions a "Republic of Ogadenia". Mitro 14:23, April 12, 2010 (UTC)
Considering that Eritea broke off from Ethiopia and Ethiopia had a civil war in which it devided into the PRE (Peoples Republic of Ethiopia) and the Derg regime it did break apart for awhile. The Somaliland article doesn't even mention Ethiopia by name anyway, there could be other landlocked countrys neerby.Vegas adict 14:26, April 12, 2010 (UTC)
Ogandenia is another name for the Ethiopian territory of Ogaden. Mitro 14:32, April 12, 2010 (UTC)
In that case the artical could easily be changed to allow for a break away state thereVegas adict 14:37, April 12, 2010 (UTC)

Wouldn't the Flag be the one of the People's Democratic Republic of Ethiopia?:

Expanding[]

As most of Somalia is in chaos, and Ethiopia would have been doing quite well - wouldn't the country take the chance of expanding into unorganised areas to get some ports? I don't think any of the Somalian remanents would be able to do anything and the Ethiopians could claim that they are bringing order to the area. Thoughts Vegas? :D 1 Imp (Say Hi?!) 11:22, February 23, 2013 (UTC)

...Why on earth would they want any part of that hell? And they do have port access in Eritrea, too. Lordganon (talk) 11:25, February 23, 2013 (UTC)

Oh, I didn't know they had a port using capibility in Eritrea, Then it doesn't matter. :) 1 Imp (Say Hi?!) 11:36, February 23, 2013 (UTC)

Doesn't Ethiopia have some traditional claims in Somalia? If they're doing well and no one is in a position to stop them, they might make a slow go of it.Oerwinde (talk) 08:08, February 26, 2013 (UTC)

More like the other way around. The current borders of Ethiopia in the east are the furthest they've ever been. Besides, Ethiopia wouldn't want to gain more Muslims Somalis - they're enough of a problem without adding parts of Somalia to the mix. The only parts of Somalia they could even remotely have a claim to besides that are Somaliland territory, anyways. Lordganon (talk) 05:17, February 27, 2013 (UTC)

Unmentioned events[]

On the Somalian Civil War page, it states the Ethiopians intervened against the ICU after the events occuring in 2005. Now both these articles are canon but there is no mention of this on the Ethiopia article or of the intervention in Somalia or the fact it has already caused nearly a million deaths due to starvation.

Could this be fixed please? Thank you. :) 1 Imp (Say Hi?!) 12:56, January 8, 2014 (UTC)
