with the French, Nik, it's dependent on a few things. Is it a british confederation of north america, or is it the confederation of british north america?

You get two different versions: La Conféderation Brittanique de l'Amérique du Nord, or La Conféderation de l'Amérique du Nord Brittanique.

I personally favor the sound and feel of the former over the latter.Louisiannan
