- I Decided to merge certain states because frankly some like Wyoming and Alaska, have such low populations that it doesn't make sense to micromanage a piece of land with so few people in it when there are three other territories with populations just as low, with politics almost the same, and geography almost identical. - Not necessarily - it could depend on how the War on Terrorism would be led and conducted. While he was getting increasingly unpopular due to his ambitions for another term as president and his suspension of the constitution, jailing several justices and lawyers of the supreme court etc., he was also getting increasingly unpopular due to his alliance with the United States in the War on Terror (mainly the part of the alliance and the War in Afghanistan). lol, I didn't know so many people were Dies the Fire fans. And to those who think it is Alien Space Bats, I say you are half right. I have a timeline on Future Wikia that has the same name that continues this timeline, though it is very rough and has been edited by some slightly crazy people who haven't read this ATL. About Israel, i do not think even the Peace Corps will be able to have a solution becuase Hamas wont be satisfied until every israeli is dead. This is a excellent and extremely well constructed TL and i have to commend you for that. but there are some ASB areas that need to be addressed
1. In the US constitution, one has to be born in the United states to run for president. Since edwards' birthplace is unknown that would automatically disqualify him from office. See the Obama conspiracy theories OTL, and the Militia movement would go crazy. Ditto Alex Jones.
2. The UN could not arrest Saddam in weeks. They sat by and let genocide happen in Rwanda. They let Ratko Mladic commit genocide in Srebrenica and in Kosovo. And don't get me started on Oil for Food.
3. The UN would have made saddam hang. I mean there would be riots if saddam was allowed to live in the lap of luxury after a slap on the wrist from the World Court.
4. All of North America coming under the US in peacetime almost overnight due to Hi Qual goods? gimme a break. This makes Independence day seem like farenheit 9/11.
5. That rapid pace in technological development and getting an asteroid 13840000 miles away with all spaceships grounded? That is like Christopher columbus reaching Hispaniola without a boat.
6. There is NO way the US would let israel be massacred by Hamas. And as for talks, in Amsterdam, hamas supporters chanted "hamas, hamas, jews to the gas". If that doesnt give you a hint of their plans, then what will?

On the list of AltHists it says that Edwards is a billionaire of the dot com boom, but I can't find anything in the timeline of this (brilliant) ATL saying he had anything to do with the internet prior to the election. Just pointing it out.

- It says in his bio, the timeline, and the intro page that he made billions during the dot com boom, I did not mean to imply that he was a software guy, he just capitalized on the economic surge of the times.

So how would edwards respond to the likes of AJ, Tarpley etc. after 9/11? They would tear him apart, with stuff more vitrolic than Terrorstorm, Endgame (Especially after Greater assertion of UN), he'd be branded a globalist (and worse). Even worse, the neocons would probably defect and make edwards look responsible for 9/11. The "Truth" movement will be much bigger and all that. To top it off, conspiracy sites will outnumber porn.
You put too mcuh faith in the UN dealing with anything. Look up Rwanda, Srebrenica, East Timor, Oil-for food etc. Buk5 15:17, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Sorry for trolling, but i was wondering? What would happen to Alex Jones and the Infowars team as well as Rense, Rivero etc? They were preaching their conspiracies during the time of Clinton (documentaries since 1998 IIRC).
I mean, with greater assertion of the UN, AJ is going to have a lot more followers, especially when Terrorstorm and Endgame come out, and believe me, they will portray edwards in the worst possible light, especially after the bilderberg meeting.
