Talk:A Peoples’ History of the Third Great Patriotic War
From Alternative History
"Tragically the end of the so-called third patriotic war or Cold War has not ended diplomacy." Although it wasn't, the Soviets liked to think that their totalitarian government was diplomatic.--202.40.134.252 05:13, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
Cool, kinda of like the war we are fighting now but the soviets won... How about a plane destroying the Kremlin instead on June 22 2001? --Henneth 13:32, 31 May 2005 (UTC)
- Any special reason for the date June 22? - Nik 17:35, 31 May 2005 (UTC)
- Thats the date for 'bombings' in Moscow for this timeline, but I think a more 9/11 expierence would be probable. Do you think America could go down like that so quickly? --Henneth 17:42, 31 May 2005 (UTC)
June 22nd is the day thet both Napoleon and hitler invade Russia. The United States is based on a federal system of all the states joined together, once the federal system collapses and any state can just leave the Federal system is pretty much toast. So Jimmy Carter's decision not to crush the southern seccession led to quick collapse similar to what happened in Russia in OTL. A 911 like attack wouldn't have been as practible in Moscow as there werent as many good targets where one plane could kill large amounts of people.--Gary123 19:22, 31 May 2005 (UTC)
- What about a sports stadium during the world soccer or hockey final ? Especialy if both countries are good target.
- By the by, "the larazus pit" bit, are we going to see Ras-Al Ghul ? --Marcpasquin 23:26, 31 May 2005 (UTC)
- Call the Stadium "The Stalin Grand Stadium" and make it preparing for the 2002 olympics. --Henneth 23:31, 31 May 2005 (UTC)
- The Olympics are not held in 2002, but instead in 2000 and 2004. RandomNerd 22:18, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- There's a good idea.
- Is the name of the Cold War "Second Great Patriotic War" or "Third Patriotic War"? Both are used in this article - Nik 04:23, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Its a metter of dispute whether or not the Napoleonic Wars was the first great patriotic war.--207.156.201.242 12:25, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- You seem to forget a little thing called WWII in that equation... -- Michael riber 16:15, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
Just to clarify: Did McCarthyism never catch on, then, i.e. no Red Scare, no HAAC or SPSI? Because one thinks, if McCarthy had managed to convince the nation that communists were the devil manifest in 1950, there would be enough anticommunist sentiment left in 1991, particularly in Southern states, that a secession would never occur without a war.
- Maybe it doesn't fit here to 100 per cent, but shouldn't this article belong to the "KGBAdventures" series? I mean, KGB Adventures also shows 6/22/2001 as the day of terrorist attack and as the rest matches, why not merge? I think that tagging it with (KGBAdventures) was just missing.
