The Swabian Confederation (High German: Schwäbische Eidgenossenschaft, Italian: Confederazione Sveva, Arpitan: Confédération Suabie) is sovereign federal state in western Europe, centered on the upper valleys of the Rhine and Danube and extending into the Alps. It shares borders with Saxony, Bavaria, Austria, Italy, Aquitaine and Lyonesse.

The confederation emerged from an alliance of cantons in the Alpine region of the Holy Roman Empire, which sought mutual protection against their larger and more powerful neighbours. Swabia subsequently became independent after the Forty Years War, and had reached its present form by the turn of the 19th century, when it was overrun by Aquitanian troops in the First World War. Since then, Swabia has maintained a policy of strict neutrality in all later conflicts.
