Subrata Gandhi is the 11th and current President of India.
Early Life[]
Subrata Gandhi was born on May 15, 1967 in the President's official residence in Mumbai, Desai House. Her parents, Sonia and Rajiv would both go on to become Presidents of India and her grandmother, Indira was the incumbent President. Subrata had a very good childhood, spending much of her time at one of the official presidential residencies. In 1974 Indira Gandhi's term in office expired but the family bought several properties in the prestigious "Parks" district of Mumbai. In 1976 Subrata was enrolled at the "Chaudri All Girls Boarding Establishment" in Kolkata and spent the next eight years there. In 1984 Subrata was sent to the University of Ontario to study law and economics. In 1988 she left the University and returned to India. She was then given several million rupees by her parents to form her own clothing company. However, the company wasn't formed. Instead she used the money to fund herself for another four years at the University of Ontario, against her parents' wishes. Her father, now President Rajiv Gandhi gave instructions for Indian secret servicemen to "return Subrata". This was duly done and Subrata remained in the shadows for the next two years.
Pre Presidential Career[]

In April 1990 she appeared alongside her father at the launching of a navy cruiser. A few weeks later she appeared on a chat show, discussing her father and his policies. In 1991 she began appearing in several magazines as a model. By 1993 she had become very successful and formed her own clothing company (five years after her first attempt). She gradually became a fashion icon and one of India's most powerful women.
Presidency[]
Unlike her family predecessors in the Presidency, Subrata didn't run as a Gandhist. Instead, she formed her own New Gandhist Party. The New Gandhist's were right-wing as opposed to her family's traditional centre left stance. Subrata wanted to encourage more business in India and wanted to bring it from being the richest country in Asia to being the richest country in the world.
In September 2011 Subrata arrived in the US as part of a world tour, she met with President Palin and stated that she and Mrs Palin were actually "very similar people with very similar aims".
