Spain, also called Espania (from the Spanish name España), officially the Empire of Spain (Imperio de España) and sometimes also called Spanish Empire is a sovereign nation occupying the entire Iberian peninsula in Southwestern Europa. Spain is located north of Carthage and south of Aquitania.

Spain is a constitutional monarchy with an Emperor as its de jure head of state, while a President is the head of government, while also de facto head of state. It considered either a middle or great power, with a population of 98,125,423.

Spain has a long history dating back to several centuries before common era, when it was inhabited by various Celtic tribes. It was partly colonized by the Carthaginian Republic. These colonies were later abandoned for unknown reasons, and were reoccupied by the native peoples of the peninsula. During the early Middle Ages, Spain came under heavy influence of Italian culture, and adopted both the Latin alphabet and Latin language, and by the 10th century, a dinstinct culture had devoloped in the peninsula. Various kingdoms emerged, but none of these managed to unify the entire region until Sancha the Great unified the warring kingdoms into one empire, becoming its first Empress. Spain became a major playor on the European political game, while also trying to expand its influence worldwide.

During the Renaissance, Spain launched several expeditions into the New World, attempting to conquer various territories from the Inca Empire and in the Caribbean. While all of these had little success, Spain remained a powerful nation, and remained untouched by foreign occupation until the Earth Empire's attempt to conquer the world.

Spain remains a wealthy nation, and is a member of the European Union and the United Nations.
