The Space Race in TTL was a multipolar effort that created much tension ending up with an alliance by America, Russia, Britain, Germany, and China to see who had supremacy in the Heavens. Japan, France, Yugoslavia, Brazil, and Scandinavia joined later and are much caught up, besides for Scandinavia which joined only in 1994.
Timeline of the Space Race
The Great war is over as the Central Powers surrender. After Henry Goddard writes an article in the New York Times newspaper about the possibility of Space travel, the Scramble for space begins between China, Britain, America, Russia and Germany.
Russia and Britain form the first titanium and steel chassis and engines of satellites.
America, Japan and China soon follow suite and construct various spaceship parts.
After several years of toiling with the newly manufactured parts, Russia (Like OTL) finally gets the first satellite into orbit around the Earth, named "Ekaterina".
The British Empire responds by trying to get a man into space, as well as sending a satellite into space, Revolution.
America sends a satellite that takes pictures of Earth, instead of just orbiting. The satellite is called Space Take.
Russia sends the first animal (A persian cat named Snow) into space. Snow is successfully lands in the Pacific Ocean, and is rescued by Russians after two days of orbiting the Earth. Snow seems to not have injuries, besides a few bruises.
 Japan joins the space race.
Britain sends one man (Alexander Welman, a 34 year old daring astronomer) into orbit around the Earth, in the probe "Life". Alexander come down near the British coast and is rescued by the National Guard of Britain. Alexander later said that the trip was very fun and also scary, and that looking at Britain from orbit made him feel patriotic.
A massive two year long global recession takes place that causes each country to reduce their space program budget, thus reducing the speed of the space race.
Russia (Sending Grosvenor Flerfin on Ekaterina II) and America (Sending Matthew Bergdolt on Uncharted) both put men into space using a more modern space shuttle instead of a satellite.
Korea puts a man into space, Grett Moqua, on the spaceship called Starview, using a space shuttle like OTL.
Germany puts a man into space (Adelhelm Schveutsburg on Stargazer) as well as a mapping satellite, called Elevationist.
Japan sends up a mapping satellite (Sea Level). China puts a man (Mou Vrenn) into space, which would keep the record of staying longest in space for a long time.
Britain successfully inaugurates the first Satellite phone call from Melbourne to London. Japan puts two men (Herg Ken and Cleivil Rettis)into space via the Air Level spacecraft, which was flying about an orbit for a week, though in a modern spacecraft, not a probe.
Korea (Kler Faren Wet) and the United States (Chris Lee) get men on the moon.
Britain (Omri Jafson) and Russia (Alexei Buyar) get men on the moon as well.
China gets a man on the moon, named Clesir Ine.
France joins Space race, Germany gets a man on the moon, Davi Graf.
France sends a satellite (Called Skyline) to study and orbit Jupiter as well as a man in space, Bastien Gourincharas.
The USA (Zach Westman) and Korea (Onten Vef Ati) get men on Mars. Congress approves extra funding for the Space program, America thinks about sending satellites to Venus and Mercury.
The British Empire put another man on the moon, Patrick Setus, who brings back rock and dust.
Britain puts man on Mars, Nathan Traw.
Russia puts a man on Mars, Grigori Flarn.
China (Desirta Cresk) and Germany (Fabian Derdo) get men on Mars.
Germany puts first woman in space, Maria Hetiya.
France gets a man on Mars, Klef Sreona.
Brazil joins the Space Race. Japan puts a man on Mars, Wutifa Nak.
 Yugoslavia joins the space race.
Brazil finally breaks the record for the longest time spent in space for one man, named Thiago Dwent.
Brazil puts a woman on moon, Teresa Nane.
Yugoslavia gets a man on the moon, Cvetko Peterson.
Korea puts another man on the moon, Ceritan Hew Jarh.
France puts four men on mars, who study the ice caps of Mars.
Yugoslavia gets three men on Mars. Sweden, Norway, Iceland and Denmark make a joint effort in the space race.
The USA/Korea gets a permanent base on Mars.
Germany puts a base on Mars. The Scandinavian put a man on the moon, Erik Slevil.
France puts a base on Mars. Russia sends probe into orbit around Venus, called Heatness, Japan sends another around Mercury, called Messenger.
Brazil puts base on Mars. China puts a satellite into orbit around Venus, called Morning Star. America sends another probe that lands on Mercury called Crater but the probe was unsuccessful and is destroyed on impact.
Korea (Via Meteoroid) and Britain (Via Planetesimal) land on asteroids from the belt between Mars and Jupiter. America sends a satellite to Jupiter, called Galileo. Yugoslavia get a man on Mars. Scandinavia constructs a base on Mars.
Yugoslavia puts a base on Mars.
America lands on an asteroid via the spacecraft Rockshore. Britain sends a small probe to Jupiter, called .
Britain sends the first satellite to orbit Saturn, mainly to study the beautiful rings. America starts the first Lunar settlement and the other countries follow suit.
Mainly Yugoslavia and many other countries that played a smaller part get the first space station into orbit (Which was called International World Space Center). Brazil sends a satellite to Saturn, called Copernicus. Russia sends another to Jupiter, called Onering.
Russia and China get an asteroid from the same belt. The moon begins to be terraformed and the atmosphere starts to rise and temperatures mellow, biologists insert Lunar-adapted Microcellular live, as well as a type of engineered water. At this stage, America has 6 lunar settlements, Korea has 5, Russia has 3, Britain has 3, France has 2, Germany has 3, Yugoslavia has 1, Brazil has 2, Scandinavia has 1 and China has 1. It planned this will be done and that the ecosystem of the moon will start to develop in 100 years.
France (Via Boulder) and Germany (Via Great step) both land on asteroids.
