South Africa is a country located in southern Africa. it's part of the Dutch commonwealth. South Africa is a multiethnic society encompassing a wide variety of cultures, languages, and religions. the constitution recognizes ten official languages, which is among the highest number of any country in the world. one of these languages are of European origin: Afrikaans developed from Dutch and serves as the first language of most white and colored South Africans.

History[]

after the Boers where expelled from Cape colony, they fought back harder than in our timeline, creating a country even more influenced by the Dutch. The British were soon scared away from the country. It never had the apartheid, but had laws that made blacks have less power. these were gotten rid of in 1970. Because of their close ties to the Netherlands, it's a part of the Dutch commonwealth.

  • 2001- South Africa had a increase in jobs.
  • 2006- South Africa is modernizing more than before.
  • 2015- Visit from the King of the Netherlands, talked about the economic growth they made.

Culture[]

The South African black majority still has a substantial number of rural inhabitants who lead largely impoverished lives. It is among these people that cultural traditions survive most strongly; as blacks have become increasingly urbanised and Westernised, aspects of traditional culture have declined.

South African culture is diverse; foods from many cultures are enjoyed by all and especially marketed to tourists who wish to sample the large variety of South African cuisine. In addition to food, music and dance feature prominently.
