Sophia Raymond (nee Garrett) (born March 10, 1969) is an American politician that serves as the junior United States Senator from Massachusetts, in office since 2013. She married North Carolina Governor Henry Raymond in the year 2002 about three years after the death of his first wife in 1999. Raymond served as First Lady of the United States from 2005 until 2013. In 2012, Raymond set up a Senate campaign in Massachusetts where an open seat was in danger of falling into Republican hands. She won with over 60% of the vote. She is rumored by the media to be considering a run for the presidency in her own right in 2020.

A member of the Democratic Party's Progressive faction, Raymond has been seen as expressing staunch progressive values since her election to the Senate.
