Scandinavia is a country located in Northern Europe. Its members were neutral or occupied during the second World War.

History

May 1939

Week One:

Gustaf V's first actions were to accept a request to Open trade from the United States, increase military buildup and/or spending dramatically, commission several tanks developed by AB Landsverk, notably the STRV M/40, STRV L/50, STRV M/90, STRV SH/70 and PSVN LR/75, and propose the Nordic Union to Scandinavia.

Week Two:

Following what's happened in Week One, Kung Gustaf starts building a great deal of infrastructure throughout Sweden, including factories, shipyards, railroads, mines, etc. Gustaf also continues the military buildup, with yet more tanks and other weapons of war being produced, reportedly including a new flagship for the Swedish Navy, the HMS Gustavus Adolphus, amongst other things. Gustaf also sends a request to open trade to Miklós Horthy, leader of Hungary.

Week Three:

Following the events of Week Two, the infrastructure throughout Sweden is being built at a surprising rate, and Kung Gustaf has ordered more of it built. Military buildup has increased by nearly 200% since May 1st, and Gustaf has not stopped increasing it, and the first of many types of war machines, from tanks to planes to even a Railway Artillery Gun named Ulaf, will be deployed over the next few weeks. Sweden has begun extensive mining and other resource collecting efforts now that the first of the facilities for them are built. Sweden has also started secretly fabricating claims on their fellow Nordic countries and subtly manipulating their populations to be Pro-Swedish and Pro-United Scandinavia. Sweden also sends a request for a Trade Agreement to Władysław Anders, Prime Minister of Poland, and Swedish citizens are outraged at the soldiers of the USSR attempting to cross Hungary without military access from them.

Week Four:

Following the events of Week Three, infrastructure in Sweden is now being completed alarmingly fast and the Swedes are continuing to build more of it as well as new military bases, airfields and ports to accommodate the large number of recently recruited soldiers and soon to be released weapons of war. Some of those new weapons of war are being deployed this week, such as the STRV M/40 Heavy Tank, Uggla Fighter-Bomber, HMS Valdemar and HMS Ragnar The Red. Reports indicate the Ulaf gun will be deployed in two weeks. Kung Gustaf has ordered that defenses should be built throughout the country in case of an attack, and more resources continue to be allocated to military buildup, raising it now to be approximately 250% of what it was on May 1st. However, it's estimated that once it reaches around 300%, Kung Gustaf will leave its budget and resource allocations where they are. Resource collection also continues to rise as facilities to do so are completed, and small towns with train stations are starting to be built around these facilities, most especially the mines. Sweden also continues secretly manipulating the other Norse people's opinion of them and the idea of a united Scandinavia to great effect, in addition to having some success fabricating claims on their fellow Norse countries, especially Finland and Denmark. Kung Gustaf sends a request for a Trade Agreement to Abd al-Kader Yasin Laden of the Islamic Emirate of Saudi Arabia.

June 1939

Week One:

Following the events of May, infrastructure in Sweden is reaching, quite possibly, its highest development yet, and Kung Gustaf is still ordering more built. Military facilities and fortifications are being built much the same way, and their construction is not ceasing either. The Swedish military now employs approximately 625,000 Soldiers and is still recruiting. The defenses across the Swedish borders are now referred to as the Stora Väggar, or Great Walls in English, and are also yet to be finished, however they are a high priority construction, and are expected to be done within two weeks. Military buildup, especially weapons manufacturing, is now at approximately 275% of normal, which some would consider excessive, especially so since Sweden is already a major Arms Manufacturer, and resource collection continues to rise with completed infrastructure, with Sweden expected to mine over 12 million tons of iron ore this year, with more small settlements being built around the facilities, primarily mines. Sweden also secretly continues, to continually noticeable effect, manipulating the other Nordic countries' populations into being Pro-Swedish and Pro-Scandinavian Union, and having greater success than before getting claims on Denmark and Norway, and having so much success doing so to Finland due to their shared history that they expect to be finished fabricating on Finland in two weeks. Sweden also announces they will likely be deciding on an alignment by the end of this year, depending upon coming events.

Week Two:

Following the events of Week One, infrastructure in Sweden is reaching a point where it will soon not be easily possible, let alone practical, to build more of it, and thus what of it that's currently under construction will be some of the last to be built currently, and the military facilities and fortifications throughout the country are ending up much the same way, and both shall likely be finished by next week. The Swedish military currently employs 675,000 soldiers and recruitment numbers are on the rise with a sudden wave of nationalism, the Stora Väggar are proceeding on schedule and will be completed by the end of next week, military buildup has gone beyond the highest point in Sweden's recorded history, and is now at 300% above the "normal" it was at on May 1st, and more weapons are being deployed including but not limited to the Ulaf gun. Resource collection continues, and the materials gathered are being sent almost entirely to the weapons factories, with some of the fastest factories producing one tank every hour. Sweden continues, still successfully, secretly manipulating the populations of, and fabricating claims on, the other Nordic countries, with the claims on Finland being expected to be finished by the end of next week. Both the Swedish government and population are outraged at the Bulgarians, and are now sending supplies to Hungary, Poland and Yugoslavia, as well as, apparently, readying their military for war.

Week Three:

Following the events of Week Two, the infrastructure, military facilities and fortifications throughout Sweden are complete, and would take a long, drawn-out campaign by even the largest of armies to get through it. The Swedish military currently employs 725,000 soldiers, and recruitment is continuing. The construction of the Stora Väggar is on schedule and will be completed by the end of this week. The last of the recently developed weapons will be deployed by the end of this week, with the HMS Gustavus Adolphus, the new Swedish flagship and a battleship, leaving the shipyard next week. Sweden now has over 10,000 Tanks, not to mention planes, ships etc., with weapons production continuing. Sweden continues secretly fabricating claims on and manipulating the populations of their fellow Nordic countries, with the claims on Finland to be finished by the end of this week. However, Sweden's secret manipulation of their fellow Nordic people's has had an unexpected side-effect. People throughout Scandinavia, Swedes, Danes, Norwegians, Finns, Icelanders and all the rest are now becoming Pan-Nationalist Scandinavians. This may eventually result in a single, united Scandinavian nation, perhaps without any of the current leadership in power, and Sweden is now secretly supporting this multi-national movement. Kung Gustaf calls a meeting with the rest of the Nordic leadership in Copenhagen or Stockholm, in order to discuss this new Pan-Nationalist movement.

Week Four:

Following the events of Week Three, The Swedish military is continuing to recruit more soldiers and currently employs about 775,000. The Stora Väggar have been completed, and with that in addition to the fortifications completed last week, attacking Sweden seems a very daunting task. The last of the recently developed weapons have been deployed, and AB Landsverk and others are now are already developing new, improved weapons to replace them in a few months. The HMS Gustavus Adolphus was successfully launched today, and the Swedish navy now consists of three Aircraft Carriers, seven Battleships, 12 Escort Carriers, 27 Cruisers, 50 Destroyers and hundreds of Amphibious, Supply and Auxiliary ships. Sweden continues secretly fabricating claims on and manipulating the populations of the other Nordic countries and secretly supporting the Scandinavian Pan-Nationalists. Sweden has finished fabricating claims on Finland, which will be gone if not pressed within a year, and the Scandinavian Pan-Nationalists now consist of 10% of the collective population of Greenland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Svalbard, the Aland Islands, Norway, Finland, Sweden and Denmark, the numerical equivalent of which is about 2.609 million people, and their support is rising. Sweden appears to be considering declaring war on Italy in support of Yugoslavia, but the involvement of Germany has caused them to take some time to reconsider.

July 1939

Week One:

Following the events of June, the Swedish military currently employs about 850,000 soldiers and is continuing to recruit more, hoping to reach one million or more soldiers within the next couple of months. The under-development weapons of war are proceeding on schedule, and are expected to be deployed by December of this year and January next. The Swedish Navy is patrolling the Southern Baltic around Germany, Denmark and Lithuania, which might be considered suspicious by some, but Kung Gustaf comments that "The Navy is just deterring possible aggressors." Sweden's claims on Denmark and Norway are still secretly being fabricated, and are expected to be finished within three weeks. Due to their continued secret manipulations, the populations of the other Nordic countries have become noticeably more friendly towards the Swedes, including the Finns, and all the Nordic peoples are becoming more and more supportive of the Scandinavian Pan-Nationalist movement, with its support/members currently amounting to about 3.789 million people, with support continuing to rise. It is expected that they will attempt to enforce their demands within two to three months, and Sweden is continuing its secret support of them.

Week Two:

Following the events of Week One, the Swedish military currently employs about 900,000 soldiers and are continuing their recruitment, and the Swedish military has its first ever Supreme Commander, Olof Thörnell. The Swedish military is apparently not fully prepared for armed conflict, Sweden's secret claim fabrication on Denmark and Norway is proceeding on schedule and will be done in two weeks/the end of the month, the Scandinavian population is still being secretly manipulated, though perhaps not for much longer, to continued success, and the Scandinavian Pan-Nationalists continue to gain members and support, currently at about 4.956 million people, and still rising. Sweden continues to secretly support them, and it is expected that they will enforce their demands by, before or during October this year. Sweden declares war on Italy in support Yugoslavia and Poland, and 750,000 Swedish troops under the command of Supreme Commander Olof Thörnell are joining the fighting in and around Trieste, with supplies now being regularly sent to Poland and Yugoslavia.

Week Three:

Following the events of Week Two, the Swedish military current employs about 925,000 soldiers with recruitment continuing and reinforcements being sent to the front as needed. Sweden's claims to Denmark and Norway are proceeding on schedule, and will be done the end of next week. The Scandinavian population is still being secretly manipulated, though for only a couple weeks longer, to great success. The Scandinavian Pan-Nationalists, whom Sweden continues to secretly support, continue to gain support at an increasing rate, currently at about 7.259 million people. The estimates of their enforcing their demands by or during October still stand, though they may be revised. As there is not yet a ceasefire, the Swedish Forces in Italy have pressed their advantage whenever possible, and have managed to occupy the Regions of Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, South Tyrol-Trentino and Veneto, pushing the front in Italy to the Regions of Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna. The Swedish Forces on the front are continuously bombing the Italian side of the front, using planes, artillery, mortars, tanks, etc. The Swedish Air-force has been fully deployed in the region, and the Swedish Navy will soon join them.

Week Four:

Following the events of Week Three, the Swedish military currently employs about one million soldiers with recruitment continuing and reinforcements being sent when necessary. Sweden has decided to construct two more Ulaf Railway Artillery guns, in addition to 18 long-range heavy artillery guns intended for use in Italy, which are projected to have an effective range of about 50 miles, and both they and the Ulaf cannons will be completed in about three weeks. Sweden's claims on Denmark and Norway will be finished the end of this week. The Scandinavian population continues to be secretly manipulated, though only until the end of next week. The Scandinavian Pan-Nationalists, which are continuing to secretly receive support from Sweden, currently have about 9.195 supporters and still rising. Due to a continued lack of a ceasefire, Swedish forces this week occupied Lombardy, Piedmont, Aosta Valley and Liguria, the Swedish Navy also arrived, and with it whatever forces from the Army which weren't deployed beforehand, which worked with the forces already deployed to occupy Liguria, meaning that the Italian front has now been pushed to Emilia-Romagna and Toscana.

August 1939

Week One:

Following the events of July, the Swedish military currently employs about 1,025,000 soldiers and recruitment continuing, though it is now starting to decline. The under-construction heavy weapons will be completed on schedule in two weeks, and Sweden's claims on Denmark and Norway were completed just before the beginning of the month. The secret manipulation of the Nordic people will end this week, and the Scandinavian Pan-Nationalists currently have about 11.753 million supporters and members, with the number continuing to rise. Sweden has reviewed the current draft of the peace treaty for the war against Italy, and has some issues with it, but overall finds it satisfactory. Due to a continued lack of ceasefire, this week Swedish forces engaged the Italian navy, and have cut off supplies to Italian forces in Yugoslavia and Albania, and occupied Emilia-Romagna and Northern Toscana, pushing the front to Southern Toscana and Marche.

Week Two:

Following the events of Week One, the Swedish military currently employs about 1.05 million soldiers with recruitment proceeding slower than before. The under-construction heavy weapons will be completed next week, and the secret manipulation of the Nordic people ended last Friday. The Scandinavian Pan-Nationalists currently have about 14.137 million people supporting them, with support continuing to rise. The Swedish military appreciates Poland's opening up additional, more convenient supply routes to its forces in Italy, and due to the Italian military's recent, severe loss of manpower, Sweden has occupied the Toscana, Marche, Umbria, Abruzzo and Lazio Regions, but have not yet occupied Rome, only surrounded it.

Week Three:

Following the events of Week Two, the Swedish military currently employs about 1.075 million soldiers, The under-construction heavy weapons have been completed and were sent to the forces surrounding Rome, the Scandinavian Pan-Nationalists currently have about 17.578 million supporters, and support for them is continuing to rise. Due to a continuing lack of a ceasefire, Swedish Forces this week occupied the Molise, Campania, Apulia, Basilicata, Calabria, Sardinia and Sicily Regions, and Rome will fall at the end of next week if a ceasefire is not agreed upon.

Week Four:

Following the events of Week Three, the Swedish military currently employs about 1.1 million soldiers, Sweden has started deploying large bomber-craft which have vague similarities to the American B-17's, Sweden has also started working on other new, improved aircraft, reportedly including some far-off designs for craft similar to the German jets, in addition to other new technologies and improved designs, including multiple new ship designs which are being referred to by Swedish Officials as the "New-Class Fleet" and some missile weapons which are said to likely be "a few years off" and "not perfected by any point of comparison". The Scandinavian Pan-Nationalists currently have about 20.154 million supporters and members, and estimates of their enforcing their demands in October appear to be off. Since there is still no cease-fire, Swedish Forces will have occupied Rome by the end of the week, and Swedish Forces this week occupied the majority of Albania, with Tirana and some lands around it being one of the few areas yet to be occupied.

September 1939

Week One:

Following the events of August, the Swedish military currently employs about 1.125 million soldiers, Sweden's new military development is proceeding well, the New-Class Fleet Project included. The Scandinavian Pan-Nationalists currently have 23,554,679 supporters and members, and are likely to enforce their demands this month. With the assistance of Poland, Swedish Forces this week have occupied the last holdouts in Albania, and thus Italy has been completely occupied. Sweden seconds Poland's demand of acceptance of defeat and by extension a peace treaty, or the demands of their side will be enforced upon Italy. Sweden proposes a co-development project with Germany, which is known publicly only as "Project Titan". Sweden also makes it clear they are not impressed with the United Kingdom's actions.

Week Two:

Following the events of Week One, the Swedish military currently employs about 1.2 million soldiers and Sweden's new military development is continuing well. The Scandinavian Pan-Nationalists attempted to enforce their demands this week, and Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and their respective territories agreed, however, Finland is now involved in a civil war against the Pan-Nationalists-recently-turned-Nationalists, with forces from Denmark and Norway assisting them, causing the majority of Finland to already be occupied, and it is expected that Finland will have joined Scandinavia within the month. Scandinavia tells other countries not to interfere, as the massive Scandinavian military is already being mostly pulled back to fight the Finnish government, and acting at all in support of the Finnish government will be taken as a declaration of war against Scandinavia. Scandinavia also continues the various things which Sweden, Denmark and Norway were doing.

Week Three:

Following the events of Week Two, the Scandinavian military, having combined the militaries of Sweden, Denmark and Norway, currently employs about two million soldiers and is recruiting more, with military buildup, facilities, fortifications, etc. being built across the recently united territories, in addition to various infrastructure, and resource collection and weapons manufacturing are increasing across the territories, with the new Swedish military development proceeding well, and the majority of the Scandinavian military has now been pulled back to fight the Finnish government. The Finnish government has agreed to a ceasefire after all but Helsinki and the province around it have been occupied, and they will likely have joined Scandinavia by next Wednesday. Scandinavia announces they will be discussing the terms of the peace deal for the war against Italy with the other members of their war alliance, and hope that a treaty can be signed within a month.

Week Four:

Following the events of Week Three, the Scandinavian military currently employs about 2.05 million soldiers, military buildup is proceeding well, military facilities across the Region are being constructed along with fortifications, infrastructure is proceeding much the same way, resource collection has increased dramatically, manufacture of weapons of war has also increased massively, with Scandinavia now possessing just over 15,000 tanks, and the Swedish military developments are proceeding surprisingly quickly, including a new class of Battleship, which has been named "Magnus den Gode" after the King Magnus the Good of Denmark and Norway. Finland has joined Scandinavia, and the construction, production, etc. going on elsewhere in the Region is now occurring there as well. Scandinavia notifies the League of Nations that the treaty to end the war against Italy will be ready "In time for All Saints' Day", unless something unexpected occurs.

October 1939

Week One:

Following the events of September, the Scandinavian military currently employs about 2.1 million soldiers, military buildup is proceeding well, military facilities, fortifications, infrastructure, etc. are being constructed quickly due to a large number of people being employed as construction workers for the time being, resource collection is becoming a very large industry for Scandinavia, especially in Greenland, where a massive amount of natural resources, especially minerals, have yet to tapped, weapons manufacturing is proceeding very well, the recent military developments are continuing very well, and Scandinavia will likely be testing its first missiles before the end of the year. The Magnus the Good-class Battleships are nearly finished, as are the latest tanks and other weapons, and the first of Scandinavia's jets will likely be deployed by February next year. Scandinavia makes it clear they find the United Kingdom's worries about them to be unfounded, and that they are not at all pleased with the United Kingdom's referring to them as Sweden. They also offer Hungary an Alliance, with the included treaties currently being: Defensive and Offensive Pacts, Criminal Extradition Agreements, Joint Military Access, Naval Basing Rights and Access Through Airspace, as well as including an offer for a Joint Development Project, which is separate from the other treaties.

Week Two:

Following the events of Week One, the Scandinavian military currently employs about 2.2 million soldiers, military buildup is proceeding very well, military facilities, fortifications, infrastructure, etc. are mostly complete across the nation, resource collection, especially in Greenland, is going very well, weapons manufacturing is proceeding extremely well, the military developments are continuing extremely well, and Scandinavia will most likely be testing its first missiles and underwater mines in a month's time, and the first jets in January next year. The Magnus the Good-Class Battleships are completed, as are the majority of the latest weapons, with more advanced ones being built, and the less advanced ones being slowly taken apart and replaced with the newer ones, starting with the least effective, and Scandinavia is building six more Ulaf Railway Guns, increasing their number from three to nine, stating that their reason for this is "concerns over border safety due to recent conflicts and nearby powers". Scandinavia also signs the Treaty of Rome, and encourages Poland to do so, while demanding Italy do so. Scandinavia suggests to Hungary that the first thing they should develop together via their Joint Development Project is a ship(s) for Hungary to use once the Treaty of Rome is enacted.

Week Three:

Following the events of Week Two, the Scandinavian military currently employs about 2.3 million soldiers, over 16,000 Armoured Fighting Vehicles and Artillery, about 17,000 aircraft, 28 aircraft carriers, 30 battleships, 71 escort carriers, 89 cruisers, 377 destroyers, and thousands of amphibious, supply and auxiliary ships, military buildup is proceeding well, military facilities and fortifications are complete everywhere except Finland, and they will be completed there next week, infrastructure is proceeding much the same way, due to the large manufacturing base, three of the new Ulaf Railway Guns have been completed. Scandinavia has looked over the documents Germany sent them, and sends a message back saying that "this will more than do".

Week Four:

Following the events of Week Three, the Scandinavian military currently employs about 2.4 million soldiers, military buildup and recruitment are continuing well, military facilities and fortifications are complete across the country, infrastructure will finish construction across the country next week, except for in Finland, where it will finish the week after, the last of the six new Ulaf Railway Guns have been completed, and construction is beginning on the new Titan-class ship. Scandinavia agrees with Hungary, saying that the Treaty of Rome should be enforced, as well as stating that they support Hungary in the case that they decide to reform Austria-Hungary.

November 1939

Week One:

Following the events of October, the Scandinavian military currently employs about 2.5 million soldiers, military buildup and recruitment are continuing well, the latter being due to the continued high nationalism among the population, infrastructure has been completed everywhere except in Finland, which will finish next week, and the construction of the new Titan-class ship is proceeding on schedule. Scandinavia supports Poland's attempt to reform Poland-Lithuania, and suggest to Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia that they should agree to it, if only for their own protection. Scandinavia also offers Protectorate treaties to Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, and offers Poland an alliance, with the included treaties currently being: Defensive and Offensive Pacts, Criminal Extradition Agreements, Joint Military Access, Naval Basing Rights and Access Through Airspace.

Week Two:

Following the events of Week One, the Scandinavian military currently employs about 2.6 million soldiers, infrastructure has been completed across the country, the construction of the new Titan-class ship is proceeding on schedule, and will likely be finished sometime in the first quarter of next year, and One Scandinavian Krona is approximately equivalent to One USD. Scandinavia recognizes the newly resurrected Austria-Hungary, and due to their not doing so as of yet, requests that other countries recognize them as Scandinavia, rather than Sweden, as Sweden is only part of the country, and they note that many previously dead nations are returning, the Kalmar Union, Austria-Hungarian Empire and Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth may be just the beginning. Scandinavia also requests that Poland send them a response soon, but takes the lack of response from Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia as their declining the offered treaties, and the Scandinavian military under the command of Supreme Commander Olof Thörnell has begun deploying troops, primarily ships, around the coastlines of Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia.

Week Three:

Following the events of Week Two, the Scandinavian military currently employs about 2.7 million soldiers, the construction of the Titan-Class Ship is proceeding on schedule, the Scandinavian military has secretly constructed three more Ulaf guns, and Scandinavia has attacked Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, occupying their capitals, which were all coastal, as well as most of their lands, within the week, due to their very small armed forces. Scandinavia warns other countries not get involved in their fighting in Africa.

Week Four:

Following the events of Week Three, the Scandinavian military currently employs about 2.8 million soldiers, the construction of the Titan-Class Ship is going well, the Scandinavian military now uses underwater mines and basic missiles, with more advanced missiles in development, the first Scandinavian Jets will be tested just after Christmas, and Scandinavia finds Japan's disapproval irrelevant. Scandinavia has occupied the entirety of Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, and is discussing terms with them. Scandinavia also recognizes the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.

December 1939

Week One:

Following the events of November, the Scandinavian military currently employs about 2.9 million soldiers, the construction of the Titan-Class Ship is expected to be completed in February or March next year, more advanced missiles will be ready for testing in a month, and Scandinavia has sent an ambassador to the Congress of Seoul. Scandinavia has continued peace talks with Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, and it has been proposed that they allow Scandinavia to make use of their bases, especially around the Straits of Gibraltar, and that Scandinavia will have military access, fleet basing rights and access through airspace throughout the three countries. An end date for these treaties is currently indefinite, and it is unclear whether or not it will stay that way.

Week Two:

No actions were taken in Week Two of December 1939.

Week Three:

Following the events of Week Two, the Scandinavian military currently employs about three million soldiers, the construction of the Titan-Class Ship is proceeding on schedule, and the more advanced Scandinavian missiles will be tested next week, as development proceeded faster than expected. Peace talks with Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia continue, with very little change in the treaties proposed since before.

Following the events of January, the Scandinavian military currently employs about 3.8 million soldiers, the latest missiles, jets and mines are being deployed, the Titan-Class Ship will be finished next week, and the first of more advanced tanks, artillery, etc. will be deployed next month. Scandinavia waits for the Treaty of Rome to come into effect, and continues the long, drawn-out peace-talks with Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, but will most likely enforce their demands within two months if a treaty is not signed.

Week Three:

No actions.

Week Four: Following the events of Week Three, the Scandinavian Military currently employs about four million soldiers, the Titan-Class Ship has been deployed, and has been named Svärd av Norr, and the first new weapons of war will be deployed in two weeks. Scandinavia is currently further improving its industry and infrastructure, and many new tanks and other weapons will be deployed over the coming months. Scandinavia's proposed treaties with Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia will be enforced in one and a half months if they aren't signed before then.
