The Sassanid Empire was a Iranian based Persian empire that was Zoroastrian. They had almost non-stop conflicts with the Romans to the west and other nomads to the north. The Sassanids repelled the muslims. The Sassanids dynasty fell in 800 and was replaced by the Hormizd dynasty.
