Robert Sargent Shriver Junior (November 9, 1915 - January 18, 2011) also known by the nickname of Sarge, was the 32nd President of the United States (1976-1980) and the 50th US Ambassador to Great Britain (961-1965). During the Geisel Presidency, Shriver founded the Peace Corps and Jobs Corps, serving as the 1st director of both. During his president, Shriver focused on eliminated poverty in the United States, which is called the Shriver War on Poverty.
