Saint Brendan of Clonfert (484-577) also known as Saint Brendan the Voyager, is an Irish saint. Brendan is mainly known for being the first European to set foot in the Brendanias (which are named after him), and he is the creator is the Celtic Union, a powerful union of the Celtic tribes of Ireland. In North Brendania, the Celtic Union's colony of New Clonfert was named in his honor, as the town of Clonfert was heavily associated with him.
