The Sabine Free State was created in 1806 as a demilitarized zone in between the USA and New Spain. With the disintegration of the USA following the War of Southern Aggression, the inhabitants of the Sabine Free State simply assumed sovereignty.
There is a movement within the Free State which has been promoting the idea for many years of annexion by the CSS.

Located in Southern North-America in between the Sabine River and a tributary of the Red River called Arroyo Hondo.
