The Second Russian Republic was the republican government of Russia from 1988 to 2011. The Second Republic saw an era of great economic growth in Russia, and the reshaping of its economic system after the the failure of the Russian Democratic Republic's "Russian Way to Socialism".
Founding of the Second Russian Republic
After the failure of the Russian Way to Socialism and the overthrow and execution of Lavrenty Beria and Georgy Malenkov, a provisional government was established while new leadership sought on to create a new constitution. Vladimir Putin, former head of the now defunct Russian state security and leader of the opposition forces, was the one and only leader of both the provisional and republican government and held both the position of Chairman (Head of State) and Premier (Head of Government).
