Russian Liberation Army or for short ROA, was a Anti-Communist, Pro-German Army created by Soviet General Andrey Vaslov. It served in the latter years of the Soviet-German War, and served in particular battles such as Second Battle of Stalingrad and the Battle of Omsk. They grew in strength and eventually consisted of 400, 000 strong. The ROA proved to be very useful against anti-guerrilla campaigns, especially in the cold Urals which the German troops weren't used to at all.
The ROA was officially created in 1944, as the war got more furious and grew worse and worse. Soviet defections soon became massive as well as there being millions of Russian POW who wanted to escape the prison life. Hitler decided to put a full time Russian Army at his disposal.
