The Royal Faction was a briefly-lived Monarchist party in the Danubian Federation. Led by the eccentric royalist, Albert von Salzburg, the Royal Faction advocated for the restoration of the Hapsburg Monarchy under the auspices of the Austrian claimant, Franz Joseph. The faction took two states in the 1848 election, but was fractured after the death of von Salzburg before its total dissolution (due to the suicide of Joseph) in 1851.
