Romania entered WWII in 1941, having lost territory to Hungary and wanting new territory to replace what had been stolen from them.

On July 27th the romanian armies crossed the frontier into transylvania. at first, the romanian army had stunning sucsess, cutting of transylvania from the rest of hungary.
