The Basilica of Saint Peter in Vatican City, HQ of the Roman Catholic Church.

The Roman Catholic Church is the largest Christian denomination in the world. During the Caroline Era, it has undergone a number of revolutionary changes, partly as a result of the invalid nature of Pope Peter II, who suffered a heart attack and possibly considerable brain damage early in his reign. This enabled the moderate tendency in the Church to dominate and change doctrine in several ways: they allowed the use of contraception, allowed priests to marry, began to admit women priests and drew much closer to the Protestant denominations.
