Richard Millhouse Nixon (January 9, 1913 - August 14, 1994) was an American character actor, screenwriter, director, producer and author, most famous for playing TV detective Ricky Ryder in the 1950's, various authority figures in the 1960's and 1970's (most notably small roles such as a recurring part as M in the James Bond series), and as Tommie Kelly in 1969's Beantown, a role for which he won an Academy Award.
Although never enjoying the celebrity of contemporaries such as Jack Kennedy (who was a close friend of his), Don Sorenson or Grant Kerouac, he was regarded as one of the finer actors of his day, in particular in the 1960's during the otherwise lull in Hollywood success due to stiff regulations.
