Richard IV (1847-January 20, 1934) reigned as King of England from 1921 until 1934. He suceeded his brother as King following his death in 1921.
He ruled during a period of economic prosperity, but great social change. It was during his rule the first Social Democrat government was formed. The depression of the early 1930s blighted his later rule, but he came to be seen as a national figurehead, and was much more trusted than the rivaling political parties.
