Post Great War
In 1932, Korea gained independence from Japan, and the new president, Yuh Woon-Hyung, decided that Korea was to modernise in order to survive. They also had close relations with the United States.
With far more resources at its disposal, Korea joins the space race in 1941. It gets a probe into space in 1946 called Explorer. In 1952, Korean Astronauts got into space and spent 2 days orbiting earth before landing in the Inchon Peninsula safely. In 1965, Korea got the first man on the moon.
Since the man on the moon, and the detonation of an atomic bomb in 1967, Korea is described as a Great Power in the Pacific Rim. Their militaries are one of the most advanced in the world, with some of the latest tanks, planes and navies. Their technology has also found its way into the market, with it having some of the highest quality goods in the world.
Korea has a population of around 72 million people.
