Religious Statistics[]
Most religions are regional in nature, with geography being the primary factor in determined what a person's religion is. The main exception to this is Buddhism (and to a lesser extent Shintoism and Chinese Folk Religion) which has spread across the world due to the East Asian colonization. Other religions have multiple regions of dominance, such as Hinduism, which is popular in South Asia and East Africa, or Catharism, which has become large in eastern Yodderick due to immigration.
It is difficult to have exact statistics for most religions, as many large religions and religious philosophies such as Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism can coexist with other religions, leading to many people following two or even three religions at once. Other people practice the traditions of religions without actually believing in the theology.
