The University of Red Oak Colonels football team is the collegiate football team representing the University of Red Oak in Iowa. Under head coach Johnny Carson, the Colonels were one of the most dominant teams in NCAA football during the 1970s and 1980s, winning 3 championships. Since Carson's retirement in 1992, the Colonels struggled for a period until turning it around in the late 2000s, appearing in back to back championships in 2009 and 2010 championships, winning it in 2009. The team is currently coached by Gary Barta and play their games in Carson Memorial Stadium in Red Oak, Iowa.
