The name for this particular althist is derived from the Rebellion of '61, a much-shorter version of *here*'s Civil War. It has two major PODs and several minor ones. The first primary POD is the above-mentioned Rebellion of '61 (April 12-July 12, 1861). The second primary POD is the longer life of the Kōmei Emperor (Kōmon *there*) of Japan.
