The Quebecois legislative election was held on February 12, 2007 to renew the National Assembly, composed of 125 members. The PQ was the incumbent majority party and retained a reduced minority government.

The results have yielded a loss of 12 seats for the incumbent PQ. The Liberals won 12 more seats. The PQ has lost its majority in the government, 2 seats sort of a majority government. The Greens have won their first seat ever, winning in a Montreal-area riding. President Boisclair now has to face a sizable Liberal opposition, however, the UDQ has announced that it will "most probably" support the PQ in legislative votes.
