Qionghai is a nation in Europe.
Gijón (part of Spain) originally was a port for Chinese ships in 1729. However, soon the area was colonised and eventually the Chinese begin to colonise into more areas into Spain. By 1789 Spain had declared war against China and Japan but soon Spain collapsed in 1815 and Spain was divided between Japan, China, and France. Later on in 1870 Qionghai declared independence from China. In 1912 Qionghai adopted a democratic government. It also stayed neutral in both world wars, but had given the allies supplies they needed. Soon, in 1956, Qionghai decided to strengthen relations with it's neighbour, Hirakawa, as well as Portugal. In 1985, Qionghai joined the European Union and in 1999 had adopted the Euro as well.
Unlike Hirakawa, a few Spanish communities still exist with-in Qionghai. They are also protected by the government and are allowed to have their own Spanish schools and Spanish governors but must learn Chinese as a second language.
