Qi Faren (Chinese: 戚发轫) (1933-) Is a Chinese-American rocket designer. He received his Engineering education in Russia, 1958-1960; participated in design of first Chinese satellite, DFH-1, in 1960's.

Qi Faren left the People's Republic of China in 1980 during the early years of China Crises. He immigrated to the United States and quickly started work in various NASA development programs. Qi Faren was the chief- designer of the von Braun re-usable rocket (1986) which is still in use, as of 2012 and is still viewed by many as the best rocket of its class. He retired in 2000.
