The Progressive Party is one of three major political parties in the United States, the others being the Conservative party and the Libertarian Party. It is the oldest active political party in the United States. It is generally considered a center-left to left wing party.
It was founded in 1912 by Theodore Roosevelt, replacing the left wing of both the Democratic and Republican party
It is the largest party in the United States. The party's 2012 platform includes:
- Term limits for Senators, Congressmen, and the President
- Eliminating the natural birth requirement for the Presidency
- Strict environmental regulations to combat the climate crisis
- Limiting campaign expenditures and donations
- Single-Payer Health care
