Marilyn Monroe (June 1st 1926 - ) Was The 39th President Of The United States serving from 1977-1985. Prior to her Presidency Monroe had been an actress, model and singer. Starring in a number of commercially successful motion pictures during the 1950s and early 1960s. Monroe began a career as a model, which led to a film contract in 1946 with Twentieth Century-Fox. Her early film appearances were minor, but her performances in The Asphalt Jungle and All About Eve (both 1950) drew attention to her. By 1953, Monroe had progressed to a leading role in Niagara (1953), a melodramatic film noir that dwelled on her seductiveness. Her "dumb blonde" persona was used to comic effect in subsequent films such as Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953), How to Marry a Millionaire (1953) and The Seven Year Itch (1955). Limited by typecasting, Monroe studied at the Actors Studio to broaden her range. Her dramatic performance in Bus Stop (1956) was hailed by critics, and she received a Golden Globe nomination. Her production company, Marilyn Monroe Productions, released The Prince and the Showgirl (1957), for which she received a BAFTA Award nomination and won a David di Donatello award. She received a Golden Globe Award for her performance in Some Like It Hot (1959).Monroe's final completed film was The Misfits, co-starring Clark Gable with the screenplay written by her then-husband, Arthur Miller. In August 1962 She had almost died of a drug overdose. She realized that her career was failing and so did 20th Century Fox so they fired her. Monroe was still devastated, a friend of hers Peter Lawford suggested she try politics (Lawford's wife was the sister of John F. Kennedy) At first she thought it was a publicity stunt so she dismissed it. Later in the week she saw a black man being beat up outside her home. She ran out and hit the white man in the face. The black man didn't realize it was Monroe he asked her "Why did you help?" She responded "Why were you being beat up by that man?" Monroe invited him in to her home and bandaged his wounds. She never saw this man again until 2001 when she helped with the rescuing trapped survivours of the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks. Monroe decided to run for state represenitive when asked what she thought of communism she answered "The Soviet Union's system was a good idea in 1918 to get rid of corrupt politicians but im afraid they went to far. But the Soviets DO have something we don't and that is equality". She would win the 1962 Election for California State Represenitive she would be in Congress for another 6 years until running for senate. In 1963 Marilyn Monroe was angred by the Assassanation of John F. Kennedy she once said in an interview "That Bastard that killed President Kennedy didn't know what he did to help this country survive a nuclear war and racism". She would reportedly go to his grave every November 22 and place roses on his tombstone. Monore was against the war in Vietnam because she once stated "Viet-Nam is a hell-hole we will not win. I suggest Deplomacy that is what we have to do In order to save lives" In 1968 she ran for The Senate but was less than 10% percent from losing. She once said to one of her aids "If I win next year im going to run for president in 1976" She would win in the 1972 Senate Election by more than 60% because of her support for Vietnam Veterans and lower class workers. Also in 1972 she moved in to the Watergate Complex on May 1st 1972 she also had in office on the 6th floor
