An alliance and free-trade area of certain British Empire members and territories, and North American allied states.
It was formed in 1815, soon after the end of the Second Northwest War between the United Kingdom and British North America on one hand, and New England on the other. Maryland and New Jersey joined the Concord Pact in 1843, following the end of the Chesapeake War. Canada joined as a full member 1843, Nova Scotia in 1846, Oregon in 1852 and Newfoundland in 1906.
