Philipp Bouhler (11 September 1899 - 22 April 1966) was a senior Nazi official who served as 26th Chancellor of the German Reich from 1964 to 1966, whereupon he was replaced by Baldur von Schirach. Bouhler was responsible for the establishment of methods to kill prisoners in Nazi death camps, in contrast to Schirach, who in his capacity as Chancellor closed South Germany's remaining concentration camps.
