Peter Gordon MacKay (born September 27, 1965) was the _th Speaker of the House of Representatives of the United States and was the Representative for Nova Scotia's 2nd District from 1997-2017. He served as Speaker of the House from 2011-2015, and announced he would not seek an eleventh term in 2016 shortly after the end of his Speakership. His father, Elmer MacKay, served the same House seat and was the Attorney General of Nova Scotia and later the Chief Justice of the Nova Scotia Supreme Court.
