The Party of Democratic Justice (Span: Partido de Justicia Democratica) is an Argentinean political party that associates itself with the political center, although many political observers refer to it as merely being the center of the center-right. The PJD was formed in 1991 due to frustrations by many Senators over the leftist nature of the PJS and the ties of the PDL to the 1980s military government. After a strong showing in the 2004 elections, the PJD formed a coalition with the PDL in the lower house of the Congress of Argentina and formed a "consensus" in the Senate, their best period in history. In 2012, they became the main opposition party in the lower house and the third-largest party in the Senate.
