The Parliament of New Albion, located at Parliament House on Macquarie Street, Sydney, is the main legislative body in the Cygnian state of New Albion. It is a bicameral legislature elected by the people of the state in general elections. The Parliament shares legislative powers with the Congress of the Union. The Parliament, like all other state legislatures in Cygnia, follows the Westminster parliamentary model and its traditions of dress, green-red chamber colours, and protocol.
The Parliament derives its authority from the Cygnian Sovereign, Her Imperial Majesty Queen Elizabeth, represented by the Governor of New Albion, who chairs the State Executive Council of New Albion. The Parliament consists of a lower house, the Legislative Assembly, and an upper house, the Legislative Council. Each house is directly elected by the people of New Albion at elections held every four years.
