Papua New Guinea (PNG; Tok Pisin: Papua Niugini; Hiri Motu: Papua Niu Gini), officially the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, is an Oceanian country that occupies the eastern half of the island of New Guinea and its offshore islands in Melanesia, a region of the southwestern Pacific Ocean north ofAustralia. Its capital, located along its southeastern coast, is Port Moresby. The western half of New Guinea forms the Indonesian provinces of Papua and West Papua.
History[]
Before the Outbreak[]
Outbreak[]
Papua New Guinea's coasts were heavily concentrated with the infected. This was further added by refugees coming from Indonesia and ironically, even Australia. The Papua New Guinea Defense Forces (PNGDF), numbering only 2,557 personnel, were overwhelmed. They were forced to retreat inland to the mountains and the lush jungles, bringing in with them their equipment, weapons, and vehicles. Survivors have been reported to settle in the mountainous areas of the region where Australian, New Zealand, US, and Indonesian cargo planes continue air dropping supplies to holdouts.
Recon from U.S. Air Force drones and RAAF P-3 Orions have reported that the natives of Papua New Guinea have conducted offensives against infected hordes that wonder the jungles, using the terrain to trap as many infected and burn them to death and traditional weapons like the spear, bow-and arrow, and hatchets.
