The Panama Canal Zone is a ship canal traversing the Isthmus of Panama from the Atlantic Coast to the Pacific Coast. It was a former unincorporated territory of the United States from the early 20th century up until 1962, when part of it was destroyed during World War III. In current times, the International League of Nations has designated it an "international neutral territory" for the economic and social benefit of the post-war world. At the behest of the ILON, the United States of the Pacific and the West Indies Federation jointly-administer the canal.
