The Palace of Atchison is the Washington, D.C. residence of the Sovereign of the United States. It was constructed during the Royal Nominations before the election of King Matthew I. It is located on Independence Avenue next to the West Potomac Park. It was named after Missouri Senator David Rice Atchison, who was famous for the claim of being Acting President of the United States for one day on March 4, 1849.
