Oklahoma is a state of the Confederate States of America. It is bordered by Arkansas to its east and Texas to its south. Once created as a new homeland for the many Indian tribes displaced by the United States government, now most native americans moved northwards in Tecumseh's Confederacy, and now the region is mostly inhabited by whites. Its environment is characterized by low mountain ranges, praires and mesas.
Often described as a rural backwater of the Confederacy, Oklahoma was the last territory of the Confederacy to be granted the status of state. Its economy relies mostly on timber, agriculture, and manufacturing, but recently a strong oil and natural gas extraction industry is developing in the state, which creates new hope for the economic future of the region.
