The Numidians are the oldest and most numerous of the Berber powers in the Maghreb. Passing their prime by the time of Celtic Rules, the Numidians cling desperately to their hordes of wealth and their majority holdings in their western Maghreb. Having already established the ancient cities of Cirta, Tingis, Ceuta, Tunes and Bougie, the Numidians now unwittingly contribute to the construction of most of the newer cities of their youthful kinsmen, the Murabutin and Libyan and Arab settlers.
