Nouveau Geneva is an independent nation located on the North American continent. The first independent colonial possession, it was formed not out of revolution but from the Treaty of Antwerp, that which ended the 11 Years' War. A secession of France's North American Territories, Burgundy and Luxembourg to the United Provinces of the Netherlands and England was accompanied by Dutch assistance in the series of religious civil wars that had plagued France for years. Territories from the former French North America were set aside, and large numbers of protesters were offered free passage to the new world, with some of the more active ones being forcefully exported. Dropped on untilled soil without any assistance, they adopted a governmental system based loosely on that of the Dutch, with several provinces each governed by an elected leader, whom also functioned as that province's representation.
