In 1982, video game comapany Atari founder Nolan Bushnell stages a boardroom coup and replaces Raymond Kassal as the CEO of Atari. Under Bushnell's leadership, quality control and company culture takes a major correction and what could have been a major industry crash is 1983 is averted.  On the Atari 2600, the game E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial for is a moderate success, while Pac-Man becomes a huge hit after a faithful adaptation of the arcade classic is made.
