What if Adolf Hitler died in combat during World War I?
Point of Divergence
On the July 1, 1916 the Battle of the Somme began which pitted British and French forces against German forces at the Somme River in northern France. One of the German soldiers fighting in the battle was Adolf Hitler, a very ambitious man who was proud to be fighting for Germany. The battle raged on for months until one faithful evening on October 15, 1918, when Allied forces unleashed a mustard gas attack on the unsuspecting German army. One of those unsuspecting soldiers was Adolf Hitler, who succumbed to the gas and died on the battlefield.
