[edit] Post-War Impact on the Roman Military
From the shear volume of arms and equipment having to be produced by Rome during the early years of the Amplus Arma, Rome's military infrastructure was necessarily streamlined and replaceability improved. Since the war's end, modular design has become one of the major factors in design consideration for both Rome and much of the world. This modular design practice has encouraged the popularity of independently built modified components.
As the war drew on, aircraft in particular became increasingly effective and supportive in battles. With the attack fighter's development, Rome's war ministry realised that the huge battleships they were spending millions of Carici on were fast becoming obsolete.
[edit] Cultural and Technological Impacts of the War
To some degree the war and its drive for technological advancement produced a section of the population dedicated to exhibiting the newest of military developments in equipment, vehicles, devices, and tactics in a professional manner. The Transversarii Nationem Milite Exhibitum Tekhno was founded in South Terranova in 2069(1316) with the aim of aiding and coordinating the communication of various military manufacturers, developers, and collectors for the purpose of public education and spectacle. Professional and amateur participation was often represented equally.
Hardness testing also emerged as a respectable field of study, by 2071(1318) there were seven scales in widespread use in the Roman world. Some, like Perdus Naso, were unitless; others did use units (Ketas). Some used the rebound of a hammer (M.F.P.); others used indentation (Regillus) or other methods.
Greek Fire was used extensively in the Nihonian War as it has been in many previous Roman wars; and though its effectiveness for the precision battlefields of the 22nd century is questionable, several state militaries still maintain Greek Fire corps. There has been some movement in the CM to have Greek Fire banned for its inhumane killing method.
[edit] Environmental Effects
Tetra-Difinxla-Plumnis (tetraethyl lead), already in development in 2054(1301), found extensive use in the Nihonian War as a way to cheaply boost Octofinis ratings of vehicle fuels. Due to its crazy toxicity, many that worked in its development died while a poisonous lead layer began forming in the atmosphere. This toxicity however was ignored as TDP was simply quite cheap, effective, and widespread until the Pruddai convinced the CM to seriously pay attention to its harmful impacts, achieving a total phase out of the additive by 2100(1347).
