The country geographically comprises two main landmasses – that of the North Island, or Te Ika-a-Māui, and the South Island, or Te Waipounamu – and numerous smaller islands. Its cultural influences are more Maori than Dutch in this timeline, as the Dutch never saw the land as that useful. Even though the difference in culture, they're still devolved as in our timeline.
(please not that the name is right in this timeline, the English just kept the Zeeland and not have not changed it to Zealand, as they never owned the land in this timeline)
after the land was discovered by the Dutch explorer Tasman, the Dutch came flocking in.
they also fought in the third Anglo-Dutch war, helping with the liberation of Northern Australia
