The Free State of New Africa (Afrikaans: Vrystaat van Nieu-Afrika), colloquially known as New Africa (Nieu-Afrika), is an autonomous dependency of South Africa located in Ishtar Terra on planet Venus. The territory comprises of several settlements along the Sedna Planitia coast and is populated mostly by Afrikaners and other White South Africans.
The origins of New Africa date back to the 1980s and the end of the Apartheid government of South Africa. Many Afrikaners and Boers began advocating the establishment of a "Volkstaat" within South Africa where they would be able to continue their culture. Several Volkstaat-like settlements were established across South Africa during this time, among them including Orania.
With the successful colonization of Venus throughout the 1990s, several Afrikaner groups began to cooperate with the governments of South Africa and the United States to establish settlements on Venus.
