The nation is centred around the capital city, also named Neue Brandenburg, and its nearby twin, Wilhelmsburg. Although it is surrounded by several native villages, technically in Neue Brandenburgian territory, most of the population lives in the city, which is rapidly modernizing due to immigration from Germany.
The nation is divided into the main cities, Neue Brandenburg and Wilhelmsburg, and the outlying territories. Of these, most are given as fiefdoms to powerful generals and politicians, in order to hasten colonization of the native areas by Europeans.
The official language of Neue Brandenburg is German, although several native languages are also spoken. English, although spoken by only a small number of immigrants, is also an official language at court because of the legacy of the Anglo-German Commonwealth. The culture of the nation follows north German cultural norms, in terms of cuisine, and literature, both of which are quite pronounced in the country. For the rich, the warm climate makes beach homes popular, and the Royal Palace lies on a seafront. Theatre is also a growing source of entertainment in all social classes, due to being cut off from Europe. Sportwise, games such as Beach Football (more OTL rugbyesque) and cricket exist, but are mostly played in the royal court. The largest religion is Schmittism, but a large number of the wealthy practice this ofhandedly, and the King himself is known to be a deist. There is also a small but growing Hussite population.
The country is an absolute monarchy, with power in the hands of the Hohenzollern King Wilhelm and his family. Democracy (or at least a representative republic) was briefly considered but never materialized.
The old symbol of the electors of Brandenburg was established as the national flag, as this was the crest of the Anglo-German Commonwealth, which led Germany to greatness.
The Kingdom of Neue Brandenburg gained its independance from Brandenburg in 1801, following a dynastic struggle between Brandenburgian King Friedrich Wilhelm III and Prince Wilhelm of Hohenzollern. Although the former was victorious in the beginning, the latter emigrated with his 'blackcoats' to Neue Brandenburg, a Brandenburgian colony which had formerly been a colony of the Anglo-German Commonwealth, and, before that, the German Confederation. He set up an autocratic monarchy, and, after defeating a Brandenburgian invasion in 1801, was finally recognized after taking control over the governor in a coup. He decided to encourage immigration from Germans hoping for a better climate and new German greatness, advocated clearcutting and the enslavement of natives, and formed an alliance with Prussia, Nippon, and Finland. He also instituted rapid expansion of the nation and the royal armed forces.
The Kingdom of Neue Brandenburg, although recognized by Brandenburg, Prussia, Finland, and Nippon, has not been independant long enough to create diplomatic relations with any other nations. However, a military alliance has been agreed with Prussia, Finland, and Nippon, and all of these nations have favorouble trade relations in return for helping in the developement of Neue Brandenburg's military.
Neue Brandenburg has not existed as an independant entity long enough to have any colonies as of yet, but expansion is continuing in surrounding native lands and possible future colonies in Africa are expected.
