Nelson Aldrich Rockefeller (July 8, 1908 – April 13, 1972) was an American businessman, philanthropist, public servant, and politician. He served as the 33rd President of the United States from 1969 until his assassination on April 13, 1972. He also served as the 49th Governor of New York (1959–1968).
