Middle East (Fidem Pacis)

Location of Nejd

The Kingdom of Nejd is a sovereign state located in central and eastern Arabia, and also including parts of southern Mesopotamia. Its capital is Riyadh. Founded in 1596 as the House of Majm established its control over neighbouring tribes and clans, it expanded to cover everything from Cilicia in the north to Hadramut in the south. The Majmi state was reduced to its present borders after the Second World War, when Syria was reconquered by Romania and the Hejaz achieved independence.

Nejd is one of the wealthiest countries in the region due to its large oil reserves. It suffers however from political and religious oppression, caused in part by the strict Wahhabi interpretation of Islam that is followed by its rulers.
